If you are not traveling and have sufficient water, the food from this add-on could be rationed to last much longer. Another scenario in which the food can be rationed to last longer is if the food is for a child, as they need less calories to survive than an adult. **The age at which someone can fully use this main kit greatly depends on several factors. We only suggest 14 years old because from our experience, you’d need to be about that old to be able to carry the kit and understand the survival instructions. The main 80 liter bag with all items inside (except the WaterBob) weighs 38.5 lbs.

The WaterBob Bathtub Water Storage Kit is shipped with the Ultimate Survival Kit and weighs 1.54 lbs.

If you add additional days of food, that will change the overall weight of your kit. Each bag has one person’s food packed in it.

When you add the few items we suggest in the included packing list, the main bag should weigh 39 to 40 lbs., and the secondary bags will weigh 22 to 26 lbs. That is the perfect weight range if you truly need to leave for an indefinite amount of time.
